Sold out, unresolved or check failed? These states are not interchangeable
Three labels can all mean “do not rely on an alert right now,” yet they describe very different evidence.

Sold out is an observed ticket conclusion
RoxAlerts uses sold out only when the supported official source supplies evidence that the monitored option is unavailable under the configured interpretation. It is a description of that observation, not a prediction that no later inventory will appear.
The label should stay attached to the exact event, division and category checked. Extending it to every entry at the weekend without evidence creates a broader claim than the source supports.
Unresolved means the evidence was insufficient
An unresolved page may load but present an ambiguous flow, incomplete options or a structure the checker cannot defensibly map. Calling it sold out would confuse absence of readable evidence with evidence of absence.
For users, unresolved is a prompt to inspect the official page. For the system, it is a prompt to review the source adapter and wait for a clear successful observation.
Check failed describes the attempt
A failed check can result from a timeout, unavailable service or another technical interruption. The failure is about monitoring, not inventory. The most recent successful state may still be shown as history, but its age must remain visible.
Repeated failures also create a coverage gap. Any later analysis should disclose that gap rather than assume the state stayed unchanged.
Why conservative labels build better alerts
False availability wastes attention and can encourage rushed decisions; false sold-out labels can make an athlete give up unnecessarily. Conservative classification reduces both harms, even if the interface displays more uncertainty.
The guiding rule is simple: report the narrowest claim supported by the latest successful evidence. When certainty is missing, say so in plain language.
What this means for your next race
Only “sold out” describes an observed ticket result. “Unresolved” and “check failed” mean you should visit the official page because RoxAlerts does not have a dependable answer yet.
